AnyLogic Consulting
Simulation is Hard.We Can Help.
SimWell helps operations teams build, validate, and scale AnyLogic models that support planning decisions across supply chain, manufacturing, rail, energy, and ports.
Why SimWell for AnyLogic
AnyLogic's flexibility is its strength and its challenge. The platform handles almost any decision environment, which means modeling decisions matter as much as the tool itself. SimWell brings depth that turns AnyLogic from capable software into reliable decision support.
Where SimWell goes beyond a working model
- Model architectures built for maintainability, not just first-run accuracy
- Validation against operational data your team already trusts
- Integration patterns that connect AnyLogic to your existing data sources and dashboards
- Scenario libraries your planning team can run without outside help
- Training and coaching that reduce long-term dependency on outside expertise
AnyLogic lets us combine process flow, resource logic, and human or machine behavior in one coherent model. SimWell uses that hybrid structure to answer decisions standard tools cannot even frame.
Anna Kampaus Director of Simulation, SimWellWhy AnyLogic
Most simulation platforms force a choice between modeling the flow, modeling the behavior, or modeling the policy. AnyLogic runs all three in one environment. That matters when the decision depends on how agents behave inside a process operating under system-level constraints.
Discrete-Event Simulation
Captures queues, throughput, resource constraints, and process flow. Works for capacity planning, production scheduling, and yard or terminal operations.
Agent-Based Modeling
Maps autonomous behavior, interactions, and emergent patterns. Works for crew scheduling, customer flow, equipment fleets, and decentralized decisions.
System Dynamics
Tests feedback loops, policy effects, and long-range strategy. Works for capital planning, demand cycles, and policy stress-testing across years.
Hybrid Models
Combines methods in one model when a single decision spans flow, behavior, and policy. Most enterprise decisions live here, and most platforms cannot model them.
AnyLogic Cloud
Browser-based scenario access for stakeholders without local installs.
GIS Integration
Layers logistics routes, site layouts, and geographic data into the model.
Production-Grade Scale
Models hold up from concept prototypes to embedded planning tools.
How we work together
Every SimWell engagement delivers something usable early and builds from there. Four entry points, depending on where your team is starting.
Your team wants to apply supply chain optimization or simulation but needs help identifying where to start and which problems to tackle first.
Your team has AnyLogic licenses and wants to build internal capability with structured guidance from working modelers.
You want to build internal capability and ship a working model on the same engagement.
You need a full decision tool, scenario library, or ongoing planning capability scoped to your supply chain environment.
AnyLogic Case Studies from SimWell
See how SimWell uses AnyLogic for today's top simulation challenges.
Load & Haul Optimization
A generic mining simulation model optimized haul truck movements from shovels to drop-off points, then expanded to evaluate battery electric truck scenarios and connect to an internal dispatch simulator.
Automated Warehouse Efficiency for Retail
SimWell partnered with a Canadian footwear retailer to upgrade an automated storage and retrieval system, testing new technologies in AnyLogic before implementation to improve order fulfillment speed and reliability.
Longshore Labor Dispatch Optimization
SimWell and the BCMEA built an agent-based digital twin of Vancouver's Longshore Labor Dispatch to predict workforce needs, test terminal expansion scenarios, and determine training investment ROI.
Technical depth
Integration patterns, modeling detail, and deployment considerations for supply chain analysts, internal modelers, and IT stakeholders.
Data Integration and Automation
Connect AnyLogic directly to SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other relational databases. Pull from data warehouses or trigger updates via REST APIs. Use Excel and CSV imports for rapid-cycle scenario analysis where live connections aren't required. SimWell has integrated AnyLogic models with ERPs, supply chain planning systems, dashboards, and data warehouses across client engagements.
Custom Logic & Java
Java integration handles proprietary logic, edge cases, and custom library dependencies. SimWell manages the Java layer in most client engagements and covers the essentials in training programs for teams handling their own model maintenance. Most modeling work in AnyLogic does not require Java fluency from your team.
Spatial and Network Modeling
GIS integration layers logistics routes, site layouts, and multi-location network data directly into the model environment. Combine operational constraints with geographic reality in one model view. Works across rail networks, supply chain footprints, port and terminal operations, and energy distribution systems.
Validation and Calibration
SimWell uses operational data your team already trusts as the calibration baseline. Validation surfaces include throughput, cycle time, utilization, and resource consumption against historical performance. Edge cases get explicit treatment rather than smoothed assumptions. Model behavior gets traced to the underlying logic when stakeholders question results.
Questions buyers ask before they engage
Will my team need to learn Java to work with SimWell?
No. SimWell handles the Java layer in most client engagements. If your team plans to maintain models internally, our training programs cover the Java essentials your modelers will actually use. Most AnyLogic modeling work does not require Java expertise.
What if we're not sure AnyLogic is the right tool for our problem?
Start with a Discovery Workshop. SimWell defines the decision, assesses the modeling requirements, and recommends the right tool and approach before any build begins. Roughly half our discovery engagements end with a different tool recommendation than the buyer arrived with.
Can SimWell work alongside our internal modelers?
Yes. The Coach the Modeler engagement supports teams who build models in-house and want expert review at key points. Custom Projects often run as embedded engagements where SimWell modelers work alongside internal teams across multiple decision cycles.
What do you need from us to get started?
A clear decision owner, a working description of the problem, and access to enough data to validate the model approach. SimWell's discovery process tightens the decision definition and identifies data gaps before the build begins, so a polished problem statement is not a prerequisite.
Do you support multi-site or enterprise rollouts?
Yes. SimWell scales engagements from single-decision projects to multi-site capability builds. Several long-term engagements run across plants, regions, and divisions, with model architectures designed for rollout and reuse from the first build.
